International Center of Aggregate Research - Established task forces considering such subjects as the use of new product fines, alkali-silica reaction, recycled materials, superpave aggregate specifications, frictional properties of aggregates used in pavement surfaces, and fines for re-mineralization in agricultural applications. National Center for Asphalt Technology - Working to improve Hot Mix Asphalt performance through research, education and information services. National Local Technical Assistance Program - A FHWA program that helps local transportation agencies learn about maintaining and improving their roads, innovative methods and materials, and ways to work smarter. Northeast Center of Excellence for Pavement Technology - Facilitates the implementation and validation of the results of the Strategic Highway Research Program (SHRP) by promoting partnering between governmental agencies, industry and universities throughout the Northeast United States. Superpave Performance Models & Software - Maintained by the University of Maryland Superpave Models and Software Development Group. Texas Transportation Institute - Researching innovative alternatives to awarding highway projects to the lowest bidder, that sometimes leaves too little emphasis on product quality and time factors that affect long-term performance. Asphalt Research Program - Dedicated to providing knowledge, the University of California at Berkeley's Pavement Research Center uses innovative research and sound engineering principles to improve pavement structures, materials, and technologies.
