Maine Department of Transportation - Here visitors will find information on the State agency that is most responsible for designing, building, and maintaining many of the roads, highways, and bridges in the State of Maine. Massachusetts Department of Transportation - Responsible for the design, construction and maintenance of 12,600 lane miles of state highway and 2,900 bridges in the Commonwealth. Michigan Department of Transportation - Responsibilities include the development and implementation of comprehensive transportation plans for the entire state, including aeronautics, bus and rail transit, providing professional and technical assistance, and overseeing the administration of state and federal funds allocated for these programs. Minnesota Department of Transportation - Develops a coordinated transportation network that allows people and goods to move efficiently across the state. Through such a network Mn/DOT preserves, manages and improves the state’s highway, transit, air, rail, waterway, bicycle, pedestrian and non-travel alternative systems and supports connections among all these transportation options. Mississippi Department of Transportation - A service-oriented agency charged with the construction and maintenance of a first-class transportation system, including highways, rails, public transit, airport facilities, and ports which allows for the safe mobility of all people. Missouri Department of Transportation - Responsible for five major transportation alternatives available to Missourians - highways, aviation, waterways, transit and railroads. Those responsibilities include the total operation of the 32,000 mile highway system, including highway location, design, construction and maintenance. Montana Department of Transportation - Serving the public by providing a transportation system and services that emphasize quality, safety, cost effectiveness, economic vitality and sensitivity to the environment. Nebraska Department of Transportation - Promoting public safety through education, the regulation of drivers and motor vehicles, and the collection of revenues that provide resources for state and local government operations. Nevada Department of Transportation - Responsible for the planning, construction, operation and maintenance of the 5,400 miles of highway and nearly 1,000 bridges which make up the state highway system. New Hampshire Department of Transportation - Plans, constructs, and maintains the best possible transportation system and State facilities in the most efficient and economical manner by utilizing quality management techniques consistent with available resources and mandated controls. New Jersey Department of Transportation - Provides strategic agenda for mobility and formulates multimodal strategies and facility-based concepts that are developed with three metropolitan planning organizations. New Mexico Department of Transportation - Committed to improving transportation for the people who reside in and travel to and through New Mexico. New York Department of Transportation - The Department has a rich history of over two centuries of service that includes transforming Indian trails into turnpikes, building the Erie Canal, and developing today's highways, mass transit systems and jet airports. North Carolina Department of Transportation - Comprised of divisions and programs for highways, public transportation, aviation, bicycles, ferries, rail and motor vehicles. The purpose of the NCDOT is to help meet the challenges and commitments to maintain a safe and efficient transportation system for North Carolina. North Dakota Department of Transportation - Developing a surface transportation system to safely move people and commerce.
